About Puerto Alcudia and surrounding area:
The former fishing port of Alcudia, in which a few poor fishermen lived and traveled with their small boats out to the sea, has now transformed on the one hand into a fashionable marina and on the other to a family-friendly water park. Thanks to the good motorway links Port d'Alcudia is now within easy reach of Palma in about 45 minutes.
In the marina boats are docked that pass through the wide bay. Hotel after hotel line the flat sandy beach, enjoyed especially by parents with children on holiday. Therefore, there are many attractions available for the little ones. The 8 km long stretch of beach from the centre of Port d'Alcudia to Playa de Muro is not only one of the longest beaches on the island, but also one of the most beautiful. Directly on beach promenade of Puerto Alcudia you walk past the hotels, apartments and apartment complexes as well as some villas with direct beach access in the first line, the most desirable locations for real estate in the north of Mallorca. From the summit of the highest point of the Victoria peninsula you can overlook the Formentor Peninsula and the bays of Alcudia and Pollensa from the ruins of a former watch tower (Atalaya) . Alcudia is also suitable for trips on the glass bottom catamaran to the magical peninsula of Formentor. Those not too tired after the day of swimming, walking, surfing or sailing excursions can have fun dancing to house music in the "Disco Magic" until dawn.
It is recommended in any case, to visit to the marina "Alcudiamar". A kind of peninsula, which can be approached by car, with the marina to the left and the Playa de Alcudia to the right. At the entrance you get a slip of paper for the purpose of parking fees. The first 15 minutes are free stay. At the end of the marina, there are several excellent restaurants and bars.
