Born in 1961 in Rheydt, North Rhine-Westphalia, Manfred Biedermann grew up in Bavaria and studied at the Ludwig-Maximilian University in Würzburg, graduating with a degree in Business Administration. Before moving to Majorca he was employed as a Sales and Marketing Manager with reputable national and international companies, and most recently held the position of Vice President Sales with the Amoena Group. A sabbatical year in 2009 took him firstly to Southeast Asia, and then to Majorca. Entranced by Majorca’s beauty, he determined to transfer his home and life to the Mediterranean island. In May 2013 Mr. Biedermann joined the senior management of Porta Mallorquina Real Estate S.L. The devoted diver (PADI diving instructor) lives with his wife, Simone, at their finca in Llucmajor.
Mr. Biedermann, what is special about Majorca?
The laid back way of life that one comes to love over the years.
If Majorca was a piece of music, which one would it be?
Mamma Mia… exhilarating, melancholy, happy yet also serious.
What is the first place in Majorca that you show to visitors?
One very special experience is to drive up sacred Mt. Randa late in the evening, in the dark, walk through the cloister, and savour the silence and the magnificent view of Palma.
What is your favourite restaurant in Majorca?
There are actually quite a lot of them, but ZARANDA (formerly at the Hilton, now at the Castell Son Claret) run by Fernando Arellano, and LAS SIRENAS at the Arenal Marina are two of the top ones.
As a German, living in Majorca is…
… a gift that one should always treasure.
